The community of CR914 unique remote control yachts collectively make up the Super Mini America’s Cup Association* (abbreviated “SMACA”).

While the number of fleets in Japan has already reached 26,
one-design races featuring the CR914 are held all over the world in countries like the United States, Canada, the United Kingdom and the Philippines.

By limiting participating craft to a single design and prohibiting structural modifications, SMACA aims for genuine yacht racing, where skippers compete using only their skills, knowledge, five senses, and strength of concentration.

In the same spirit of the real America’s Cup, the oldest and most prestigious event in sailboat racing, yachting enthusiasts have competed in the Super Mini America’s Cup World Tournaments held at the model yacht pond in San Diego, California.

The title went to Blair Atwell of Canada at the first tournament in 1986,
followed by Graham Bantock of Great Britain at the second event in 1991.

The next event could be your chance to win.

Take the America’s Cup challenge.
